Zing! Rush Limbaugh Tweaks Media (again!)

The media's latest spin involves lies about Rush Limbaugh, this time taking his comments on Haiti completely out of context to make him appear 'on the hot seat' -- and then they took it a step further by going viral with a predictable hoax using snippets of Rush quotes. Politico reported that Rush Limbaugh's remarks about the Haiti disaster and Obama have stunned many. Headlined, "Limbaugh joins Pat Robertson on hot seat," shortly into Andy Barr's fairy tale he writes the following:
Speaking on his radio show Wednesday, Limbaugh said the earthquake has played into Obama’s hands, allowing the president to look “compassionate” and “humanitarian” while at the same time bolstering his standing in both the “light-skinned and dark-skinned black community in this country.”

Now that most of you've read the liberal's-eye-view of the story, want to know the facts?

Rush did not say, "Don't make donations to Haiti!"

This time it's Rush who's laughing last. Limbaugh predicted two days earlier that this exact set of events would happen, and that Harry Reid's "light skinned" remark would somehow get pinned on himself, not Reid.
RUSH: All right. Now, this is funny. This was our Media Tweak of the Day yesterday... You know, what we do here on this program is, purposely, play the media like violin, like a Stradivarius. And I love tweaking them. I love irritating them, and I love upsetting them and all you do is take words uttered by liberals and apply them to current events. It was Harry Reid who looked at Obama and said he's a "light-skinned" guy that "doesn't speak in a Negro dialect."
Lo and behold, the Mainstream media and other leftist Bloggers march one-by-one right into Limbaugh's trap. They did exactly as Rush predicted, which is pathetic, but also predictable nowadays.
CALLER: Where in your right mind do you get the cojones to just completely -- I don't know, I guess -- dismiss a tragedy of possibly a hundred thousand people dead in Haiti? You're -- you're going around discouraging people to send donations because we already donated to Haiti and it's called the US income tax; and Obama, the president of our United States -- your president as well, whether you like it or not.

RUSH: Where did you...?

CALLER: -- you're saying --

RUSH: Where did you hear that I discouraged donations to Haiti?

CALLER: Uh, I read it in, uh, a news thing called the Huffington Post, but that's not the point. I was going to finish my sentence if that's okay with you.

RUSH ARCHIVE: Before this week is out, [the Mainstream media will make it look like] I will be the one who uttered the words "light-skinned" and "doesn't speak the Negro dialect when he doesn't want to." I'll be the one that said it. Before the week is out I'll be the one that said it, not Harry Reid, and they'll be asking, "Why have you not condemned Rush Limbaugh for what he said (in repeating what Harry Reid said)?" and Harry Reid will condemn me from the Senate floor!

There you have it; the truth about what Rush said about Obama and Haiti. Now all we're waiting for is to hear from Reid as he condemns Limbaugh for what he said, which in all irony is simply the repeating of what Harry Reid said. Sometimes I wonder how the media has a job, it doesn't seem like they're very good at the whole hunting down facts thing... like, real detective work and stuff.
